Some acquisitions do have a chance

Speaking of acquisitions, I believe this acquisitions of Instapaper by Betaworks has a real shot at working out for all, customers included.

I've known John Borthwick, founder of Betaworks, for years, and I have great respect for him and what he's done with Betaworks. Instead of just investing in random companies, he's put together a vision and a coherent view of the world, and he goes around investing in companies and ideas that fit into that coherent world view.

It's exactly what I was talking about, where the souls of those companies were already compatible, and Betaworks will basically set the soul of Instapaper free and give it to nurturing it needs to expand into what it really wanted to be all along, but couldn't in its previous context.

Nothing's guaranteed, but this one feels right to me.
