When asked during the fireside chat with Jason Calacanis during SXSWi this year, whether he was democrat or republican, Tim O’Reilly answered:
I think I’m a taoist.
Something else interesting he said during the interview was when Calacanis asked him what he was good at, and he replied that there were a few things he was good at, but there were also some things that he was not good at, that were important.
For one, he was not interested at all in money.
As fearless entrepreneurs, we’re not in it for the money, either. We’re in it to live life, be happy, and to create positive change in the world.
Chasing money doesn’t lead to those things.
