The fear of not having fear
Via today’s HeartQuotes:
“Love is the ultimate meaning of everything around us. It is not a mere sentiment; it is truth; it is the joy that is at the root of all creation.”
- Rabindranath Tagore
What motivates us?
Mots of us are motivated by fear. Somewhere deep inside we’re afraid we’re not enough. We’re afraid that we’re never going to make it. We’re afraid that others are going to find out that we’re nothing, we’re fakes, we’re not worthy of being loved. If they knew what is really inside of me, they would reject me.
What happens if you heal that pain? What happens if you find the ability to forgive yourself and to love yourself?
Will you end up a couch potato? Will you end up not caring about making an effort and doing great work? Will you end up just happy and satisfied with not making anything of yourself?
That’s what they’re afraid will happen. That if they started loving themselves, they’d just do nothing.
And that may happen. For a while.
If fear has been your fuel for your entire life, then perhaps it’s time to collapse, to just vegetate for a while, while you rest and heal and care for yourself and renew your energies.
But I guarantee you that after a while, you’ll find a new source of inspiration within you. A source that comes from love. From the desire to create. To use your gifts and skills for good. To connect with other people. To share the love that you feel inside with others.
And that’s the place where your greatest contributions and achievements are going to come from.
And it’s also where your greatest sense of fulfillment and satisfaction is going to come from.
The fear of not having fear is an insidious kind of fear to suffer from.
