We’re all so very busy these days.
We’re behind on our projects, our exercise, our blogging, our marketing efforts, our bills, our commitments, with ourselves, as well as with others.
But telling yourself (and others) that you’re behind does no good. It may make you feel less guilty for a few seconds (“yes, I may be behind, but at least I’m making myself wrong for it”).
But it’s really a judgment statement about reality, saying it’s wrong. Saying you’re behind is the same saying you’re not where you should be. You’re behind that magical line where you ought to be at.
Instead, accept where you are. You are exactly where you should be. How do I know? Because you’re there.
Fully accept it. There are some commitments. “Hi commitments.” Here is what you’ve done. “Hi what I’ve done.” Here’s the energy level you have. “Hi energy level.” Here’s the time you have available. “Hi time.”
Now choose what you want to spend your time and energy on right now, and how you want to deal with the commitments you’ve made, with yourself as well as with others.
Will you honor them, or do you need to change or renegotiate?
You’re not behind. You are exactly where you should be.
Now choose your course of action.
