Now Hiring:
Strategic Assistant!

This is a killer opportunity for someone young, smart, and hungry af, who wants to become a great business leader.

You’ll be mentored directly by me, a successful founder and CEO, software engineer, and spiritual guide (I know, rare combo) on a mission to raise the next generation of leaders.

You’ll help me manage projects, vendors, hiring, and even entire business units—as well as more mundane tasks like calendar, inbox, and travel management.

I will connect you with incredible people, insights, opportunities, and growth, and share liberally of everything I learn from my quarter of a million dollar annual investment in my own growth.

Look, I know there’s lots of jobs out there. You can work for a big corporation. A venture-funded startup. A regular run-of-the-mill small business. Those are all valid choices.

But you’ll be hard pressed to find another small entrepreneurial business that offers this combination of mentorship, autonomy, opportunity, impact, personal growth, and passion for what we do.

If that sounds interesting to you, read on …

Let me know if this resonates with you...

You’re someone on a mission. You’re not here to waste time. You want to advance your life and your career. You want to learn and accomplish things.

You love taking on responsibility and showing you can handle it. You love autonomy. You love making things better, and you really appreciate when the path from idea to execution is short. You love when things constantly get better.

What you hate are dysfunctional teams, red tape, bureaucracy, and stupid policies. You detest when things take needlessly long. You resent having any limits put on your ambition and growth.

You value an environment where we can be real and vulnerable with each other. Where you know your boss and your teammates truly respect you and want what’s best for you.

This role is an incredible opportunity to learn and grow your career.

You’ll be working directly alongside me, a successful founder & CEO as I scale my tech company (simplero.com) and launch my new ventures (bodymeal.us, bva.fit).

You’ll receive mentoring and coaching from both me and from others inside and outside the organization.

There is a clear path of advancement here, depending on whether your dream is to become the perfect number-two, or you want to become a leader of your own business.

Whether being a leader or a supporter is your jam, I will share everything I’ve learned over my career with you.

You can even rise to take leadership of, and have equity in, one of my ventures, or you can move on to become a supporter of other people within the organization.

To tell the truth, there’s a massive shortage of highly competent, emotionally mature leaders AND supporters. And that’s what we aim to breed around here. Become one, and the world opens up to you like you could never imagine. That is what I want for you.

And the supporter role is especially rare. There’s more glamor in being a leader. But it’s not for everyone. A great number two is what allows the leader to do their job. That’s extremely rewarding if you’re someone who doesn’t need a lot of outside recognition.

So what will you be doing here?

You will help manage projects and vendors. There’s a lot of moving parts, and learning how to be effective through others, to set clear expectations, to measure progress, to be clear and organized, to negotiate agreements, and how to motivate your vendors to give you their best performance, are all critical skills you’ll learn here.

You will help with hiring. Recruiting is critical to any organization, and most companies suck at it. Have you noticed that most companies’ job ads look the same? Boring bullet lists of requirements and qualifications. “5 years experience as a blah blah.” Who cares? We sure don’t. We want people who are smart and can think for themselves. We want people who are eager to learn and grow. And we like to do things differently. Smarter. Better. I’ll teach you everything I know about hiring, and you’ll help execute on it. No skill is more critical to an organization than this.

And yes, you’ll help with calendar, inbox, and travel. I’m a systems guy. I have systems for everything. But every once in a while, there’s an exception to the scheduling, or I need help with my email. I’ll teach you how to build effective systems, how to do research, how to present information with clarity, and how to manage your energy and time effectively.

In general, I’m going to teach you how to use technology effectively. How to set up systems, how to troubleshoot stuff, how to think logically and methodically. Tech is critical to any company these days, and you’ve got to learn this.

I’ll teach you how to learn. I’m part of multiple mastermind groups, coaching programs, and am constantly learning from books, online courses, workshops, mentors, podcasts, and more. I’ll guide you to the relevant things to learn, and show you how to efficiently absorb learning and insights.

I’ll teach you practical psychology and persuasion. How to connect with people and build meaningful relationships, so you get to have fun. I’ll teach you discipline. It’s a word I used to hate but have come to love. When you master discipline, you’ll find that what it brings you is freedom.

I’ll share my network and open doors for you. I’ll bring you with me on travels to mastermind groups and other events. Loyalty is big with me. If you do great work here, I will set you up perfectly for the next step in your career, whatever it is.

I’ll share everything I’ve learned about becoming the most powerful version of you, and what I like to call “hacking the simulation” — how to make things happen in a way that feels effortless and fun. It’s my most treasured accomplishment, and I’m happy to share.

This opportunity is not for everyone.

You have to be smart and super duper hungry to achieve, learn, and prove to yourself what you’re capable of.

You have to want to be disciplined and organized. I can teach you the how, but I cannot create the desire.

You’ve got to be good with computers and tech already. We’ll build from there.

Also, the pay is going to start low. We start out in the $40-50k range, and then aggressively grow from there as you rapidly get better. My first job out of college, I learned more in the first few months than I had in five years at school. That’s what I want for you.

My team is fully remote, and this job can definitely be done remotely. That said, if you can work with me in person in Williamsburg, Brooklyn 2-3 days a week, that’s a massive win for both of us. This would absolutely be a job you might want to relocate for. The payoff will be well worth it.

  • Why you’re the perfect candidate for this job
  • The last book you read and one key insight from it
  • What your dream career path looks like

Also do this one minute typing test, and include a screenshot of your results. A typing test may sound silly, but I’ve found it to be a pretty good indicator of a person's general pace.
