An obligation beyond the bottom line

Apple CEO Tim Cook:

"I do feel we have a responsibility to create jobs," Cook told Bloomberg. "I don't think we have a responsibility to create a certain kind of job, but I think we do have a responsibility to create jobs. I think we have a responsibility to give back to the communities, to pick ways that we can do that."

That's a smart man, and a man with integrity. Everyone is part of an ecosystem. Apple hadn't become what it is without a strong home market and the ability to hire great people. You can't just suck resources dry and leave it to someone else to clean up the mess, like so many "corporate" people think.
